With the help of parents and teachers I spent 5 days at the school, working with 150 children in year 3 (8/9 year olds). In small groups the children were able to have a go at cutting out the metal using a guillotine, filing, cleaning, drilling and hammering. They were also able to watch short displays of welding, although I completed the majority of the sculpture at my studio in Woking, before taking it back to the school and installing it outside the reception.
