Biography
Artist Statement
After finishing my Degree in sculpture I spent several years working in retail whilst exhibiting sculpture in my spare time.
In 2009 I began sculpting full time, selling my work through galleries, exhibitions, the internet and working to commission.
I also spend much of my time working with children, bringing my metal sculpture workshops into schools,
allowing children as young as 4 or 5 to experience working with “grown up” tools and metal.
My work centres around nature but I also try to express a sense of humour and whimsy in the sculptures that I create,
often using bright colours or awkward poses to bring a bit of quirkiness to my work.
For many years birds have been my favourite subject matter, I feel they present so many possibilities as a source of inspiration
that as my work evolves I’m never at a loss for new ideas.
